Support a Hero: Jennie, Nurse and Mom of Four

On the night of Saturday, April 26th, our beloved Jennie Rae suffered a catastrophic fall that caused a traumatic brain injury. She underwent emergency brain surgery (a craniectomy) and is currently in the Intensive Care Unit, where her condition remains critical. At this time, her medical team cannot provide a timeline for her recovery.

Jennie Rae is a devoted nurse in a New York City Hospital—someone who has spent her life caring for others in their most vulnerable moments. Now, she is the one who needs our care.

She is also a loving mother to four beautiful young children, all between the ages of 2 and 8. Jennie’s world revolves around her kids, who miss their mom and are being cared for by her close-knit and loving family during this unimaginable time.

She is a single mom, and the responsibility of supporting her and the children has fallen to her parent, nanny, siblings and friends—who are doing everything they can to meet the needs of the household while staying by Jennie’s side.

This fundraiser is being created to help ease the financial burden this crisis has brought. Funds will go directly toward:

Immediate household and childcare expenses

Basic needs for her four young children

Medical costs and future rehabilitation support

Ongoing living expenses during Jennie’s recovery

Jennie Rae is kind, selfless, and strong—a caregiver, a mother, a daughter, and a sister. She has always shown up for others. Now, we have the chance to show up for her.

Jennie's brother, John Paul, is serving as the beneficiary of this fundraiser and will lovingly oversee the use of all donations. With Jennie’s parents nearing 80 and focused on providing emotional and day-to-day support, her brother has stepped in to manage this role. Every contribution will be used solely to support Jennie’s medical needs and ensure her four young children are cared for during this difficult time.
