Hi friends and family,

Many of you know how much I care about my community and the vision I have for transforming our neighborhood. I’m reaching out to ask for your support as we bring that vision to life through the Kings Learning Garden, a new community greenspace being built right here in the Lee/Harvard and Union-Miles area of Cleveland.

This project was born from my passion for restoring our neighborhood — one home, one lot, one block at a time. Over the past year, I’ve been working hard to turn two vacant lots on East 151st Street into a vibrant, welcoming space where kids and families can learn to grow fresh food, connect with nature, and build healthier lives together. The garden will feature fruit trees, raised beds, children’s learning tables, benches, and gathering areas for workshops and events.

But right now, we’re facing an unexpected challenge. Although we’ve been maintaining these lots and planned to purchase them as side lots for $200 each, the city determined that because they are slightly larger than the standard size, we have to pay market rate — $3,724 per lot. This sudden cost is a big hurdle that’s slowing down our progress and putting the dream of this learning garden at risk.

That’s why I’m asking for your help. We’re raising funds to secure ownership of the double lot and cover early costs for fencing, benches, children’s tables, and soil improvements so we can move forward this spring. Every donation, no matter the size, will bring us closer to breaking ground and creating a safe, beautiful, and educational space for our community.

Your support doesn’t just build a garden — it plants hope. It gives local kids a place to learn about nature, healthy food, and self-sufficiency. It gives families a space to come together, grow, and reconnect with the land. It helps restore pride and beauty to our neighborhood and shows what we can accomplish when we work together.
