A graduate student in the Harvard Philosophy Department is in need of financial assistance. After going on medical leave, she found herself without university pay, and without the money to afford housing. She is currently living in a temporary room in Cambridge, MA, but needs the money to pay for housing, medicine, and food, until she is hopefully able to return from her leave (and receive her university pay) in February.
All funds will go directly to the student. She is currently looking to fill the following budget:
Rent: $1000/month
Medicine: $200/month
Food: $400/month
For four months, this sets a fundraising goal of $6,400. Please donate as much as your means allow. Any amount helps -- even $10 will help support her in the coming months. We would also appreciate it if you could pass along this request to your friends and community networks.
Update:
We have increased the goal, as the student has just found out that she is not going to be able to return from leave until next fall at the earliest. She is currently looking for a stable housing situation, and we will update the rent budget as soon as she finds one. We are now including two additional months of support for a new goal of $9,600. We hope that by that time she will be able to find work that sustains her until the fall.
We greatly appreciate all of your help so far.
