Support a Future Scientist - Geleceğin Bilim İnsanına Destek

Hello,

I am Cansu Özdemir's cousin and I am managing this campaign to support her dream to become a scientist on her behalf. Cansu graduated from Ankara Cayyolu Doga Science and Technology High School with a 100% scholarship, and her dream is to become a mathematical physicist.

For the past two years, she has been working in Ilmar Gahramanov's research group at Boğaziçi University. You can find the paper they co-authored in https://arxiv.org/abs/2305.03011 . Additionally, for the past two years, she has been attending undergraduate and graduate mathematics classes at Bilkent University upon the invitation of Prof. Laurence Barker.

This year, she was accepted into the University of Toronto's Mathematical and Physical Sciences program with the prestigious Faculty of Arts & Science International Scholar Award and the President's Scholar of Excellence Award, given to only a few students. The University of Toronto is ranked among the top 20 universities in the world and is one of the few universities conducting research in the areas Cansu is passionate about.

However, beyond the scholarship provided by the school, she needs to cover an additional 28,500 Euro (remaining tuition, housing, and meal expenses). Her family is not in a position to cover the full amount. Cansu, her family, and supporting organizations have managed to gather 21,800 Euro so far. She needs an additional 6,700 Euro to obtain her visa and begin her education.

Cansu needs the support of kind-hearted people who can help her achieve her dreams of becoming a world-renowned scientist in mathematics and physics. Any amount of support, big or small, is greatly appreciated.

Note: It seems that in the following years, Cansu will be able to cover her expenses with additional scholarships provided by the school and part-time work permits. However, she needs support to finance her first year.
