Hi, my name is Kelly, and I’m in my second-to-last semester of nursing school. I’m supposed to graduate this August, something I’ve worked incredibly hard for; but right now, I’m facing a situation that may prevent me from finishing.

Recently, my school eliminated payment plans, and I now need to come up with $5,000 by May 4th to stay enrolled. I have more money to raise for food, travel to and from clinical sites, and testing fees, but whatever is left over from what I raise I want to donate back into local shelters that have been helping myself and other amazing individuals.

At the same time, I am currently unhoused. Earlier this year, I made the difficult decision to leave a living situation that was mentally and emotionally harmful. Since then, I’ve been doing my best to stay afloat—sleeping on couches, moving between places, and trying to maintain stability while continuing school and work.

I work as a paramedic through multiple contract companies and am hardly making ends meet, and I also volunteer my time with a local fire department to help out the community and to keep my skills and firefighter certifications up-to-date. Caring for others has always been at the center of who I am. I was even nominated for a DAISY Award, which meant a lot to me, especially during such a difficult season. As of April 9th, 2026, I found out that I won!!!

Right now, I’m doing everything I can to cover my basic needs (gas, phone, and daily expenses) but I cannot come up with this tuition amount alone in such a short time.

I am so close to becoming a nurse. I don’t want to quit!!! Not now, not when I’ve come this far.

Asking for help like this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but if you’re able to support me in any way - whether that’s donating or sharing this fundraiser - it would mean everything to me.
