Support a Fresh Start: Recovery and New Job

Donation protected
I was back and forth on doing this for a few weeks but now have decided it is my best and only option.

-In the last 7 months, I chose to complete over 1,000 hours of meetings, groups, church, and therapy for my recovery journey.
What that looks like is:
-I chose to initially complete a 30-day residential program (got certificate - drug/alcohol tested through process). Then to continue my recovery…
-I chose to successfully live in a sober living house for 45 days (no positive drug/alcohol tests, left on good terms with no balance owed) and then to continue my recovery…
-I chose to complete another 45 days of the next lower level of care (PHP - partial hospitalization program - drug/alcohol tested throughout the process) and to further strengthen my recovery…
-I chose to attend the next lower level of care - an IOP (intensive outpatient program, approximately 45 days) and live in sober living (drug/alcohol tested 2 times a week) and attend groups every weeknight from 6-9 pm. I am set to complete this lowest level of care in two weeks on Feb 27, 2025, and start a new full-time job. I have worked part-time “recovery jobs” during this process but to say they have not been able to cover my food, sober living rent, transportation, and basic necessities like toiletries, phone insurance, and food is an understatement. My sweet mother has helped tremendously throughout this process both emotionally and financially but is fully extended with being a retired teacher and retired from selling real estate in 2024. I want to go get my Jeep from Panama City before I start the job in two weeks and need to get insurance for it. I also will be moving to a sober living home around Feb 27 and start paying rent there. My first paycheck will be a month to five weeks from now.

I owe $1,500 on the Jeep, the insurance is $500 per month, and I will take a Greyhound ($180) to go pick up the Jeep to drive back to Tampa and my professional clothes for the new job. The sober living rent is $1,000 per month or $250 per week with a $150 entry fee.

*I can provide documentation and references to my recovery from my sponsor, clinical director(s), group facilitator(s), certificate of completion, case manager(s), therapist, sober network references, professional network references, personal references, the job offer letter and acceptance letter, proof of bills, etc.
The funds are going directly to a trustee (my mother) so she can dispense the money accordingly.

I have dedicated a lot of time and effort to my recovery and will continue to do so. I had to put getting better ahead of working full-time during this process because without recovery I couldn’t work at all. The funds raised will go to a designated trustee. All donations will be kept private and not acknowledged on social media.

Thank you for helping if you are able and if not, thank you for supporting me. I’m looking forward to a bright future! Any negative, non-helpful comments will be removed from this post.
