My name is Olivia Ciotoli and I own The Black Cat Market Cat Cafe in Pittsburgh, PA. More specifically, we are in the Garfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh. We will be opening a free pet food pantry outside our storefront.
Our neighborhood, and Pittsburgh as a whole, are seeing unprecedented amounts of beloved pets being surrendered due to lack of finances. Some folks will feed their pets before feeding themselves, and it’s devastating that they even have to make this choice. We hope to do our part in keeping pets and their families together by providing a free pet food pantry for our community. While it can’t solve all the financial obstacles of owning a pet, it can certainly help folks in tough situations.
Our goal is to purchase a weather-proof, wheeled cabinet to place outside our storefront and stock with free pet food and supplies. It will be set out all day, and wheeled back inside overnight to avoid critters getting into the food.
A nice cabinet such as this can run from $100-$200. We set our goal at $500 so that we can purchase the cabinet, and start stocking it with pet food and supplies. All funds raised beyond our goal will go towards continuing to stock the cabinet.
Thank you all so much for supporting this endeavor!
