Support a First-Year Teacher's Classroom Needs

Hi!

I am so excited to be a first year teacher! I’ve worked in Education for the last three years as a short term/long term sub and paraprofessional. I'm starting this GoFundMe as a way to raise money for classroom items I cannot afford on my own. I will be teaching at a Title 1 elementary school. My students will be in grades K-5 and the class is English Language Development. I am still in need of some basic classroom supplies such as scissors, a mechanical pencil sharpener, glue sticks, and tape. With your help, I will have opportunity to decorate the classroom and make it a comfortable space for my students.

I would utilize the donations to purchase a bookshelf, books, an area rug and some pillows to make up a cozy reading corner.

As for decorations, I would like to include a world map so my students can put a sticker or pin on the map to show where they are from. Since my classroom doesn't have any windows, I would like to purchase a "fake window", a window pane look-alike that has a painting of an outdoor landscape.
