Hi, I am a 25 year Firefighter going through some tough times. This year I was diagnosed with Cancer. a real punch in the gut when I received the diagnosis. I was 5 years from my planned retirement. I bought my home to retire in, and like most people was planning out the inheritance I would one day leave to my kids and grandkids. Cancer was definitely not part of the plan and the toll it would place on my quality of life and my finances. I went through the colon surgery, and first thought that would be all. But while inside they found more Cancer. Had to do 6 months of Chemo. Like most Firefighters I depend on picking up extra shifts and side jobs to make ends meet. I am not able to do this now, making paying monthly bills very challenging. And Life does not stop just because you have Cancer. Cars still break down and need repairs, Need to repair the roof on my house. All this just keeps on coming and draining your savings and planned retirement savings. After 6 months of Chemo, they went inside and still found more Cancer, I thought for sure would have been all dead, but some cancer still survived. Did a very tough surgery called Hot Chemo. They go inside and scrape your abdominal cavity wall trying to get any microscopic cancer cells that remain, cut out more lymph nodes and gall bladder and other parts of the lymphatic system. The recovery from this surgery has been very devastating along with a few complications that put me back into the Hospital. Now going to start 6 more months of Chemo. I am very wore out, and savings depleted. I hate to ask for any help, but am getting into desperate situation. Not asking for anyone to strain themselves financially, but just asking for a little help to survive past this Cancer. Any amount will help and will ask God to multiply it and make it work.
