Hey! I'm Meghan, a Brooklyn-based filmmaker. I'm raising funds for a short film. "The Hole" will be my first time directing and I'm so excited to share this very personal story.

LOGLINE: On a fateful day at Coney Island, an immigrant couple contemplates divorce, faced with a life-changing decision: should they uproot their family and move back to the mainland?

SYNOPSIS: It’s the 2000s. Joe and Jeannie, on the brink of divorce, spend a day at the beach with their daughter, Coco. This may be the last family outing for awhile. Jeannie wants to return to China, where her parents can help raise Coco, but Joe wants to tough it out in America.

When Coco overhears her parents arguing, she tries to “dig a hole to China” (as the old saying goes). She works all day, plastic shovel in hand, digging and digging until she disappears from view. Joe and Jeannie panic, afraid their daughter has gone missing. A frantic search reunites this family, reminding them all what matters most.

I've worked as a Production Designer in the industry for many years. Projects I've designed have premiered at Tribeca and other major festivals, and I've partnered with major brands like Nike, Peloton, RCA Records, and a Super Bowl campaign for PETA.
