Subject: Urgent need supporting Chad Eisenhower and his family Brooke, Ike, and Ruby Mae after Chad’s life-altering car accident.
Dear Family, Friends, & Acquaintances,
Sandy and I are writing this donation request with heavy & troubled hearts. We are in fear for our son’s future due to the devastating news we must now share that occurred on 21 April 2025. Chad, our 40-year-old son, was involved in a profoundly serious & traumatic single-car accident. The cause of the accident is not fully known at this time due to Chad’s unconscious state. The injuries Chad sustained are significant and will change the way he lives his life with his family. Chad’s road to recovery is going to be exceptionally long, extensive, & challenging. We are asking for any assistance & support from all who may read this request that can help out a veteran Marine in need.
Chad was med-flighted from the accident scene to Prisma Health Richland Hospital in critical condition. The trauma suffered in his accident was internal decapitation (atlanto-occipital dislocation) AOD. The immediate life-threatening repair surgery alone was five-plus hours. Also, Chad had to undergo a second surgery the same night for severe internal bleeding. The repair required the removal of a portion of his intestines and his colon, which now he has a colostomy bag for an undetermined period of time. He also sustained three broken ribs, a cracked sternum, & has been in the trauma unit surgical ICU for over three weeks now.
Chad also had to have a tracheostomy put in because he was unable to breathe on his own. He still has the tracheostomy in place right now so he can't talk until they take the trachea out. Chad is having difficulties not being able to talk, which creates a constant battle between his physicians and his medication in an attempt to keep him calm. The success of this has not been reached yet so Chad is having to be restrained so that when he comes to for a moment he does not panic and try to remove the tubes or hurt himself in any way.
The accident has left the family facing a mountain of medical bills, lost income, and the emotional trauma of this unexpected event. Chad had minimal medical insurance that is going to leave the family with a substantial medical bill mountain. His wife (Brooke) & two children are also struggling to cope with the financial burden of this situation, as they face the challenges of medical treatment and the uncertainty of the future. Brooke is a stay-at-home mom now responsible for balancing the care of the two kids, the home front, days at the hospital once he awakens and the long-term care of Chad once he is released one day in the distant future.
We've exhausted our resources and are now relying on the kindness of our community to help us ease the financial burden. Every dollar contributed will be used to help cover medical expenses, family needs, bills, and ease the financial strain they are facing without the sole income of Chad. The donations are to get them through the hospital and rehab period so there will be financial support for the kids as well.
I am asking you to please consider making a donation to support our son and his family on this long medical journey.
