Support a Father's Battle After a Devastating Fire

Dear friends, family and compassionate individuals,

We come to you today with a heavy heart. We are seeking your immediate support in aid of Frezer Woldemichael, 41, a loving father, son, and brother, who, along with his partner Andrea and their son Leul, faced a devastating house fire in Ajax on Friday, January 19th.

In trying to save his family, Frezer was unable to get out of the house in time. He suffered a cardiac arrest due to smoke inhalation, and was pulled from the fire unresponsive. Thanks to the heroic efforts of first responders, he was resuscitated on the scene, but remains on life-support and has yet to regain full consciousness. He’s being treated for his burns as well as for a severe brain injury.

Leul, Frezer’s toddler son, and Andrea, were in the second story of the house. Andrea bravely threw Leul down to first responders who caught him and took him to safety. In the effort to save herself, Andrea had to jump, and suffered grave injuries to her face and neck. She remains in critical condition.

Given the amount of damage, Andrea’s family have created their own GoFundMe page in the effort to get donations to help with the needs of her care; the family home and other immediate needs.

As a result of the fire Frezer now faces homelessness, adding another layer of urgency to his already dire situation. Therefore:

The funds raised through this GoFundMe campaign will directly contribute to Frezer's medical expenses and assist his family in covering immediate needs such as housing and professional help.

Frezer’s greatest loves and joys are his children, Alivia (15) and Leul (almost 3) who are now left with a great deal of uncertainty for the future and their father’s role in their lives.

Frezer, a talented Ethiopian Canadian painter cherished by many, has touched so many lives with his creative spirit and passion for his craft. Now, as he battles for his life, we are rallying together to ensure that he receives the critical support he needs during the challenging times ahead.
