On June 17th of this year I was struck by a vehicle traveling between 40 and 45 mph. That is usually a recipe for a fatality. Many pedestrians die from their injuries.
Mine are quite significant. As a matter of fact I write this plea from my bed in a rehab center in Edison. I have 2 broken legs my left knee shattered and my right knee shifted and required surgery. Both upper legs have rods inserted. My left wrist is broken and required another surgery on Monday. I had injuries to my spine and my entire right calf is covered in road rash.
I have some future financial prospects in the future but for the next several months I'm looking at being a homeless person on crutches until my legal heal. I don't know how long the rehab center will keep me. I'm at the mercy of my insurance company.
According to the IRS I've worked from 1988 to 2022. I raised 2 amazing human beings. My daughter is pursuing art and writing. My son finished Middlesex County College with a 4.0 and is heading for Rutgers in September. My pride for him in indescribable.
I have made my own progress with the completion of my 1st novel. I am now in the process of editing the rough draft and getting it ready for publishers to make offers. I hope to have the final copy finished by December or next spring. So I haven't given up yet. I have apparently been pushed to the edge and dark fringed of society's ' throwaway ' but my heart is still beating and though my children are mostly grown now at 20 and she'll be 17 in 2 weeks , they still need their father.
Doing this destroys my pride but I need to put my children's needs in front of my ego. I've learned that the ego can betray us , it often does....
I appreciate all of you......
Thank You
