Hi everybody, I’m Laila and I’m 20 years old. I live with my mom, stepdad, and brother. My mom has currently spent the last 26 days in the hospital, falling very ill, which has set us back by a lot, not to mention my own serious health problems. All I’m asking for is kindness and compassion. We all have gone through some things. My mom is one of the strongest women I know. She loves everyone and will give her very last even when she’s going through things herself. Selfless is one of the best ways to describe her. We’ve almost lost her a few times due to strokes and a heart attack. She has lupus and has dealt with cancer as well. We’re trying to keep our home as well as get back on track with other things. Worrying and stressing has impacted her health significantly. Where we currently own our home, they are constantly harassing us about things which are beyond our control. They keep saying we missed court dates when we’ve received no paperwork; their stories keep changing. When we were able to provide them with a payment, they refused, saying a judge signed off, and when calling the court, no such paperwork existed. We’ve asked what we could do, and they said nothing but to go! Where? Also this isn’t the first time this has happened. From our understanding other communities are experiencing the or if not worse. Some tenants/homeowners have had their money orders stolen and told them they haven't been turned in which they did the same to us. They keep saying we had court dates, but yet no paperwork now they want us out the next 24hours. They've said we've got to contact our lender which we have with no return phone calls and plenty of messages left. Out lot rent is over$900, which is way more than our mortgage. All we were asking was for time to move and we’ll deal with the legalities later. This is very very stressful to my mom’s health and on the verge of a breakdown. We are getting treated like peasants. All we want to do is just leave. We need funding for a storage unit, a truck, and help with a down payment for a new home. Please, anything will help. We’ve also tried contacting several news stations. We have been going through this for 11 months. Please open your hearts and help is. Time is of the essence.
