Hi,
We’re a Taiwanese family who received our green cards a few years ago, something my mom and dad worked so hard for and waited so long to achieve. But just as we began to settle into our new life, everything changed when my mom was diagnosed with stomach cancer last December.
By the time we found out, it was already stage 3. Since then, she’s been fighting with everything she has and never giving up.
I remember when this journey began, she said to me, “Chemo isn’t too bad” - she believed she could handle it. But then came the weight loss… then her hair started falling out… then feeding tubes… and now, a metal stent in her stomach.
A few weeks ago, we received devastating news from the doctor saying that the tumor has grown to cover 2/3 of her stomach. It has now progressed to stage 4.
This has been the hardest, most heartbreaking chapter of my life and my family’s. But somehow, it’s also been the most meaningful. Every day with her is a gift. I’m so thankful to everyone who has supported, encouraged and prayed for us.
I never imagined I’d be in a position to ask for help–but here I am. Early on in this journey, my mom told me that if the chemo didn’t work, she had one wish: to see the Northern Lights in Iceland–together, as a family.
When I was younger, my mom had planned to take us there once. Everything was booked, but the plan changed at the last minute, and we never went. Since then, she’s always talked about it. She was waiting for me to finish school so we could go together as a family.
That’s why I’m reaching out. If you’re able to help us make this one wish come true, we would be forever grateful. And even if you can’t, thank you so much for taking the time to read our story.
Why we’re raising funds:
1. Treatment (Still Praying for miracles)
2. Commercial flight with a medical escort
3. Emergency funds for urgent medical care or return flight
If you’re able to share, pray, or donate, it would mean more to us than you know.
Thank you
— B
