I am pouring my heart and hope into asking for help to bring my husband home from ICE detention.
My husband was taken from us by ICE, and since then our family has been living in constant fear and uncertainty. I don’t know when or if he will be released. Every day without him feels unbearable. I have hired an attorney for his pending asylum case, but after being laid off from my job in March, I have been unable to keep up with the legal fees. The cost is far beyond what I can afford on my own.
We have two children together, both U.S. citizens. I am also a U.S. citizen. Our youngest baby is only six months old, and our older child is four years old. I am caring for them alone. I cannot work at this time because I have no one to help care for my children. Some days, just getting through the day feels overwhelming.
While my husband has been in detention, his I-130 marriage-based petition was approved, yet he remains in ICE detention. He has no criminal record and holds a civil engineering degree. He is a loving father, a devoted husband, and a hardworking man who only wants to provide for his family and live in peace.
We came to the United States searching for safety, stability, and hope for our children. Instead, our lives were torn apart in a single moment. I am exhausted, emotionally and physically, and deeply afraid of what the future holds for my children without their father. Living without my husband, without knowing when this nightmare will end, has been incredibly painful and heartbreaking.
Any support you can offer whether through a donation or simply sharing our story would mean more to me than words can express. Your kindness and compassion give me hope during the darkest time of my life.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who reads this, helps, or keeps our family in their thoughts.
