Jes Lanham is a wife and mother of two. A few weeks ago she was surprised when she began to lose feeling and muscle control, culminating in her loss of ability to walk.
She has been hospitalized now for almost 2 weeks, and there is no quick end in sight. The medical professionals currently plan on giving her a 5 day blood cleaning procedure and then 2 weeks of rehab. She still cannot walk without assistance, and has very little muscle control in her hands.
She is currently diagnosed with transverse myelitis and Brown-Séquard syndrome, but MS is a distinct possibility. The lesion on her spinal cord continues to grow.
As the sole childcare for her two children, and with no family nearby, Jes and her husband are in dire need of childcare support as he must return to work. Then, once she is able to return home it is still likely she will need support.
Financially the burden for childcare, meals and medical needs is large.
