Dear Kind Friends and Supporters,
My name is Lama and I have started this gofundme on behalf of our dear family friends in Gaza Ruba Abu Alkhair and her sister Rola, who have been living in tents for the past seven months.

Ruba is an elementary school science teacher and Rola is a civil engineer. Each of them have four young children, with Ruba's oldest in ninth grade. They are now sheltering in Dayr Al Balah in the Gaza Strip after their homes in Gaza city were destroyed.

Before the war Ruba and Rola had a quiet, simple life but since October their life has been a nightmare. They've been homeless in for the past seven months.

Ruba and Rola were forced to flee their homes with their family in the middle of the night. They pushed their elderly, paralyzed father in a wheelchair to a nearby UN school seeking shelter and safety.

When flyers were thrown on the school to evacuate, they roamed the streets until they could borrow plastic and blankets from people to put up a make-shift tent. They lived in this tent describing their days as a 'slow death' until their father actually passed away from the horrible conditions and illnesses in the tents.

Their father passed away in the night and they had to sit by his body until bombing calmed down in the morning and they could go bury him.
Their entire life has been destroyed, their homes and whatever they had from their previous life. They have no income and literally no roof above their head.

Ruba and Rola's families cannot afford to evacuate Gaza, so they would truly benefit so much from any financial support you can offer to help them survive until the war is over.
