My first thought was an April Fool's joke... but it wasn't. I got the text that my daughter's home was on fire just after 3 pm on April 2nd. The fire started between the basement and the 1st-floor residence. Thankfully, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the 1st floor, and her residence on the 2nd floor sustained mostly smoke damage.

However, her family of four are now homeless. The Red Cross has been a blessing to help with a few days in a hotel, but they need to find a new home to rent. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, as they face the challenges of storage rentals, extended hotel costs, and smoke removal of their belongings.
