Help a family in Israel with a fresh start

My name is Chana Tepfer. I am married with four children, and our oldest is currently serving as a soldier in the Israeli army. I work long hours every day, which often keeps me away from my family when they need me most. My children are struggling in school, and it breaks my heart to see them facing these challenges alone.

We live in Israel, a country that has been devastated by war for nearly two years. The constant fear and uncertainty have taken a severe toll on our children’s emotional well-being, and they require therapy to help them cope with the trauma they’ve endured.

My youngest was born with a medical condition and has already undergone multiple surgeries, with more still ahead. Unfortunately, our insurance covered only a portion of these procedures, leaving us with medical debt that we have been unable to pay off.

The past few years have been especially difficult for our family. During both the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing war, my husband faced long periods of unemployment and underemployment, leading to the accumulation of additional debt. Although he now works two jobs, our combined income covers our necessities, leaving us without the means to pay off or reduce our accumulated debt. Taking on additional debt is not a practical solution, no matter how favorable the terms might be.

We are reaching out despite our reluctance because we are in desperate need of help to pay off our debts and move forward with a fresh start.
