I am married with a teenage daughter. During COVID, I lost my home but found refuge at an extended stay hotel. A barber and Uber driver by trade, I had to stop working about seven months ago. I've had two knee replacements but continued to work. I developed drop foot due to damaged nerves in my lower back, which required me to have three back-to-back surgeries. Because of the multiple surgeries, I have blood clots in my legs and lungs. I can only walk with the assistance of a walker. My wife, who is/was a municipal employee, took time off to become my caretaker. She had more than enough time, so she went out on FMLA. We thought she would only be out a few weeks, but two weeks turned into three months, as I had to have multiple surgeries. She did everything by the letter but happened to find out that she was terminated from her job while on an approved extension, which is against the law. She is seeking legal counsel and applying for unemployment, but we need emergency funds to keep us from being homeless. Now I am battling Stage 4 cancer of the hyphopharynx, which is located under my jawline, soon I will be headed to a rehab facility. We are grateful and appreciative of any and all help. UPDATE: As of February 2026, my cancer is in remission! I am eternally grateful for all of the well wishes. We are trying to rebuild and get back to some sense of normalcy, but it's a bit difficult. We can use all of the help we can get. Thanks so much!
