Support a family in crisis: fire recovery fund

Hello friends and family,

I am writing to ask for your help and support during a difficult time for my parents. As many of you may know, their house caught fire shortly after Christmas (https://twitter.com/OlatheFire/status/1607860743738904576?s=20&t=g4Ec_HndsOhLBr90sPx-_w). They are been displaced and living in a hotel. The fire caused significant damage to the home and the insurance coverage has not been enough to cover the necessary repairs. To make matters worse, the insurance policy does not include coverage for loss of use, which means my parents have had to bear the cost of the hotel stay out of pocket. We are projecting they will have to stay at the hotel for at least 6 months.

As my parents are getting older, it has been especially challenging for them to be away from their home and in a temporary living situation. They miss their own space and the comfort of their own home. My sibling and I have been trying to help as much as we can, but we are not in a financial position to cover the remaining costs of the repairs and the expenses of the hotel stay on our own.

That is why we are turning to the GoFundMe platform to ask for your help. Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and would go towards getting my parents back into their home and easing the financial burden they have been facing. They have always been there for me and my family, and now it's our turn to support them during this difficult time.
