I’m raising funds for my neighbor, a 56‑year‑old man in Coimbatore, India, who has suddenly become the center of an unimaginable crisis. He is the only breadwinner for his family—his wife, who is a homemaker, and their two teenage sons who are still in school. Until recently, they managed to get by with his steady work, but now their world has been turned upside down by a medical emergency they simply cannot afford.

About 10 years ago, he was diagnosed with diabetes. Over time, the disease took a severe toll on his kidneys, and now both kidneys have failed completely. He needs dialysis twice a week—on Tuesdays and Fridays—just to stay alive. Each dialysis session costs around ₹4,000 (about $50), and these repeated treatments are quickly draining whatever little savings they had.

The long‑term hope is a kidney transplant, which doctors estimate will cost around ₹20 lakhs (roughly $22,000). Without this lifeline, his condition will only worsen and the family will continue to face enormous physical and financial strain.

At the moment, the monthly and weekly medical bills have overwhelmed them. They are so short on money that they are struggling to pay rent and even to buy groceries. The family lives in a rented house, and every additional expense for dialysis pushes them closer to eviction and hunger. With no steady income from my neighbor while he is too weak to work consistently, and his wife unable to earn outside the home, the situation is becoming desperate.

The money raised through this GoFundMe will go directly toward covering his dialysis costs, which are currently the most urgent need. If more funds become available, they will be set aside for his eventual kidney transplant and the related hospital and post‑surgery expenses.
