Hello, my name is Jesus Resendiz-Cervantes, and this is my father, Jesus Resendiz-Leon.

On Thursday morning, while on his way to work, another driver swerved into my father’s lane, causing a minor accident. Despite the situation being minor, my father was the one arrested and is now being held by ICE. He has no criminal background and has not been given a court hearing or bond opportunity. He is currently facing deportation.

My father is a hardworking, brave, and determined man, and above all, an incredible father. Like many immigrants, he came to this country with the hope of giving his children a better future. I am forever grateful for the sacrifices he has made for our family.

We still have hope. Our family is actively trying to obtain an immigration lawyer to fight for his release, but the legal costs are far beyond what we can afford on our own.
