As many of you know, we became homeless a few months ago. This was never supposed to happen because my father set us up nicely; however, he never made a will, so we have to go through probate court, which takes forever.
So as of right now, we are living in a motel, which costs more than an apartment. However, the managers here are great, and it's a roof over our heads. I can't afford to pay rent, car payment, and storage fees, etc.
On Tuesday, my car gets repossessed again. This time, I don't have the money to get it back. I need my car to get back and forth to Robert Wood Johnson children's hospital in New Brunswick to be with my son, Next month, my storage unit will get sold. My father was a veteran; his flag is in there, as well as my son's necklace with my father's ashes in it. Basically, everything we own other than the clothes we brought with us.
My little boy is only 8 years old and went through major surgery on Wednesday and will be in the hospital for at least 3 weeks. He has severe idiopathic scoliosis and had halo traction surgery where six screws were drilled into his skull, attached to a halo pulled by weights. I can't afford to take off work; however, I can't afford to not be with him as well. He cries when me or his dad has to leave.
If we had a house fire and lost everything, a GoFundMe would raise thousands. We're about to lose everything as well; it may not be burnt, but we'll never get our life back. It also cost a lot to go back and forth to hospital, parkway and turnpike tolls, gas, parking fees and food. So I'm hoping if you can't help, you will at least share. I'm at a desperate point in life to ask for this kind of help.
