A brother from Sri Lanka took out loans in his home country to travel to Saudi Arabia, hoping to work and provide a better life for his wife and three children. He secured a job and worked for six months, trusting that his efforts would allow him to support his family and repay his debts.

Tragically, despite months of hard work, he was never paid—despite repeated promises and excuses from his employer. Not a single dollar was given for his labor.

Meanwhile, back home in Sri Lanka, the lenders who provided the money for his journey have been pressuring his family. His wife and children are facing harassment, threats, and intimidation over overdue loans. The situation has escalated to the point where a police case has been filed, and his wife is now at risk of imprisonment if the debt is not repaid within a short time.

Unable to continue working without pay, the brother had no choice but to leave his job. As a result, he also lost access to the company-provided housing. Today, he is homeless—sleeping outside, surviving on a single donated meal a day, and without any means to return home or support his family. After six months of work, he has nothing to show for it but hardship and uncertainty.
