UPDATE: Last night, my grandparents, Uncle Bruce, and Aunty Deb were involved in a serious head-on collision in Alabama, where they evacuated from the hurricane. As my family works to finalize the loss of their house in Florida, we're also focused on making our way to Alabama to support them during this challenging time. Our thoughts are with everyone affected, and we're determined to come together as a family.
My family is facing an unimaginable crisis. After losing their home and belongings to Hurricane Idalia just last year, my parents, grandparents, two siblings, & two dogs have now been displaced again by Hurricane Milton. This time, their house suffered over two feet of flooding, including sewage backup, rendering it uninhabitable.
They’ve lost everything once more—this includes their home and their car. Their landlord was kind enough to terminate their lease due to the extensive damages. However, this currently leaves them homeless and without options for temporary housing. Currently, we are doing our best to support them, but we are living without power and with limited water.
They are struggling after being hit by these two devastating storms in such a short span of time. We are trying to raise funds to help them secure a new rental, but every bit counts. Your generosity could make a life-changing difference for my family during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for considering helping them rebuild their lives.
