Our names are Georgie and Sean, and we're asking for you to please help. Our best friends, Simon, Lauren, and their 3 year old son lost all of their possessions in the recent fire at the Byfleet commercial storage unit. Reported by Surrey Live here Just a few weeks away from moving into their house, and moving all of their belongings out of the storage facility, a fire broke out at 11pm on the night of 18th May and caused complete destruction. The smoke from the fire could be seen across Surrey throughout the morning of 19th May. Simon and Lauren finally found their new family home in 2022, after an incredibly tough 2 years where the sale of their flat fell through 6 times, twice on the day of exchange. Faced with ongoing heartbreak and stress from the entire process, they moved into Lauren’s family home temporarily to search for their new house. They found it, but it needed extensive work before it was safe and suitable for them to live in with their three year old son. After months of additional expenses, dealing with difficult house rennovations, juggling full time work, Simon as a Surrey policeman and Lauren in London every day, they were so close to being able to move in. They now find themselves in a heartbreaking situation. Not only have they lost irreplaceable memories, treasures and belongings, from a practical sense they have lost their furniture, kitchen items, clothing and all of the items we need, and use in daily life. Their savings have gone into making their new house habitable, and so find themselves in an impossible situation. Sentimental items cannot be replaced, but furniture, kitchen items, linens, towels, cushions and items for their sons nursery can be. They are not people to ever ask for help, but this beautiful, wonderful couple just need a helping hand to enable them to rebuild their lives. we ask from the bottom of our hearts to please help in any way that you can , to help us to help them. Thank you x
