My husband’s cousin, LB, was recently shot twice and is now hospitalized. It was senseless gun violence that should have never happened. All he was trying to do was figure out why his son was being treated unfairly. He was walking away from the situation and ended up getting shot twice in his back with his son there to witness it. LB did not deserve what happened to him. He’s an amazing father and a good person in general. His son did not deserve to see what happened to his dad. He has a long road ahead, including ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and therapy. LB has about a week left in the hospital and then will go to a rehab facility. While we are thankful he survived, the physical, emotional, and financial toll on him and his family is overwhelming.

As he focuses on healing, his family is facing medical bills, lost income, and everyday expenses. They have all these things on top of having 6 kids to still be there for and provide for. No family should have to worry about keeping the lights on or providing for their kids while fighting to recover.

We are asking for help to support them with medical costs, household bills, and basic needs for their children as they navigate this long recovery.
