Support an affected terminated government contractor.

Hello, some of you know me and some may not. However, I’m here because I was a part of the workforce reduction at USAID. January 28th was my last official day with the agency as a contractor.

Up until this point, I have been managing and getting by with $400 that I was receiving from unemployment as-well as tapping into my savings which has now been depleted. My savings was in place for unintended emergency circumstances (and this is one). From day one, I have applied for thousands of jobs. Either I got a response of, “We received a tremendous response to this job posting and we are sorry, but we have moved on in the hiring process.”

This entire situation is very stressful, as I have held a job since the age of 12. Never in a million years did I think I would end up in a situation where I can’t even find a job. I’ve interviewed and interviewed, and been told that my resume is impeccable and my experience is in line with what they are looking for, but I suppose someone else was better.

My unemployment has exhausted and I cannot get an extension. I’ve held a job for 39 years and they have taken out of my paycheck to give to FICA, Imputed Income—I don’t even know who they are, but they are getting that money. The last 3 weekends, I have gone out to sell plates; that helps, but still not enough.

Without any income coming in right now, I’m left stressing about how I am going to pay my rent in order to keep a roof over my head, electric, and any other bill that is a necessity. I’m asking for help and if that means praying to GOD on my behalf, please do. I thank you in advance for any support you can provide.
