Ugh this is hard to write. Quick backstory on this dog. His former owners tossed him to the streets when they had to move to a place that didn’t allow dogs. And he wondered into our neighborhood and I got him to trust me. We live in a townhouse community with a HOA and we’re only allowed two dogs and we have two chihuahuas now. So we tried to re-home him. We found a family with a small child and realized he had food aggression and they gave him back to us after 3 weeks. We found another family who kept him for 6 months and then out of nowhere asked for us to take him back. So we have had him for two years, hiding him from our HOA. He has truly become my spirit animal. He loves me so much. We always joke and say he was bad for the other families, so he could come back to me. A month ago we noticed him licking the bottom of his paw and looked at what it was. He had a pink growth between the pads of his paws. I took him to our vet and they were not sure what it could be. We did a round of antibiotics and some kind of cream and within a month the growth doubled in size. So we have now had a biopsy, X-rays and ultrasounds, and a week ago we had surgery to remove the growth because the cancer had not spread anywhere else. Well we had the growth sent off and the margins came back still cancerous and they were not able to get it all out. Our next step is now making an appointment with a oncologist to see what he suggests and go from there. I am in debt 3k with him so far. It’s just me and my mom. We have no one else and we are not rich. So anything will help. 3 weeks ago I also Spent 1k on my cat who I had a very strong bond with as well. And he had feline leukemia and was suffering badly, and we had no choice to put him down. I have had extreme depression over all of this. And some financial burden to be taken off of this whole awful and unfair situation, would be greatly appreciated.
11/14 updated. Snickers is doing okay. We were able to get an earlier appointment with the cancer specialist. It was suppose to be for the 26th and we got moved up to the 20th. We are going to hear them out and see what they think. Our original vet says that if it’s too expensive, then our last resort to keep the cancer from spreading, is amputation. I will Keep updates coming as we decide on what to do. Thank you everyone for your donations. It brings me to tears every time I see Someone donate.
