My name is Jono. While living in Cambodia, my wife and I met Hou through our church. She's a university student that has fallen through the (limited) social support that is offered in this country, cannot afford to continue tuition, and fears that her chances at a better future may be about to vanish. I think this is a well-founded fear, and so we are appealing to you for help on her behalf (as Cambodians cannot use most crowdfunding platforms with national bank accounts...). We pray you will find her story compelling, and choose give with a generous heart.
"I am a first-year student at the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL), currently facing a serious financial crisis. I work full-time while studying in the evening to support myself, but recently, my father underwent surgery. He is the only family member I can rely on financially, and because he is currently unable to support me, I have been struggling to cover my tuition fees, rent, food, transportation, and other basic living expenses.
I have tried reaching out to several organizations, including Caritas, Cambodia Students' Hope, and other organizations, but unfortunately, I have not received the assistance I need.
I am now turning to fundraising as my last resort. My goal is to raise enough money to pay my tuition and cover my basic expenses so I can continue my education and keep working toward a more stable future.
I sincerely appreciate any support you can offer. Even a small contribution can make a meaningful difference in my life and help me get through this difficult period. If you are unable to contribute, sharing my fundraiser with others would also mean a great deal to me.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my story and for your kindness, generosity, and support. I genuinely hope this last resort will help me get back on my feet and continue working toward a better future."
