Hi, everybody. This is maybe the worst thing I've ever done, especially since I've had to ask you all for help in the past, but I'm desperate.

I have lost my job and am at risk of losing my home.

That first part is only partially true. Let me explain. For those of you who don't know, I suffered a workplace injury 3-and-a-half years ago. Earlier this year, I was medically determined to be permanently disabled. Up to this point my job had been accommodating my medical restrictions, but I was recently informed that they will no longer do so. I was placed on leave pending my medical retirement.

I had been working under the understanding that I had enough paid time off (PTO) to last me one more pay period and thought I had a little more time to figure something out, but I was wrong. I am now completely out of PTO.

I've applied for other jobs, but that process takes time. I've initiated the retirement process, but that will take at least a year. I might qualify for disability pay, but I don't know how much it will be, nor do I know when it will start.

I've eliminated just about every expense I can think of, but I still have rent utilities, and my car payment coming up, and I also have about a dozen prescriptions and they are not cheap. This isn't even mentioning the little payments here and there that I haven't been able to cut yet. I'm trying to sell some of my stuff, but I don't have much of value.

So I'm coming to you, hat in hand, to once again ask for help. I know times are tough for everybody, but if you could spare anything, every little bit will help.
