In the last week of April 2024, my workplace put me on an involuntary leave due to an unresolved seizure disorder. The financial and emotional stress of being out of work, as well as a lapse in HRT due to discrimination, led to a significant decline in my physical and mental health, and since have had to return to partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient treatment. While waiting for approval on both employer and state benefits, I've experienced a massive lapse in income on an already thin budget that has made it extremely difficult to make ends meet and focus on my wellbeing.
UPDATE; As of 7/24/24, I've had to quit my job due to lack of accomodations and reduced hours, making it impossible to keep employment. I am currently looking for gig/small work in the meantime while I wait for unemployment, which I will likely have to go through an adjudication process for. I am also appreciative of any job leads that will be more accepting & accomodating of my disabilities. Please continue to share and support when possible -- anything and everything helps!
I do not have safe and accessible help from immediate family and am turning to my community for support until I'm able to return to work or gain approval for state benefits. Funds will go towards monthly necessities such as rent ($775), utilities, phone bill ($60), groceries, cat food and litter, medical bills (including prescriptions for insulin, HRT, syringes, doctor's visits, lab testing, emergency department and transport bills), bus fare, and other day-to-day needs.
