Within the past year, I have, by the grace of God, become a Certified Surgical Technologist, something I never thought I would ever achieve. My dream has always been to have a career where I help people, which is why I chose this. I came to this country when I was only 3 years old; my family was searching for a home for a better and safer future and the American dream. I’m proud to say that I’m a DACA dreamer, and I am beyond thankful and grateful for what this country has given me, and I vow to help make it a better place.
Unfortunately, this dream of mine is being made more and more difficult with the current administration changes regarding immigration policies. I renewed my DACA back in November and have yet to hear back. I am currently left without a job, solely relying on savings, struggling with monthly bills, and not being able to find work due to my status. I am currently applying for green card status, but the recent raises in fees and me not being able to work and in debt is making the process nearly impossible.
I originally wasn’t planning on making one of these, but I have reached rock bottom, and I am asking from the bottom of my heart for my community and others to lend me a helping hand with my current struggles. The funds will be used to get me back on my feet while I’m not able to legally work. I ask that God returns the favor a hundred times back to those who help me in these difficult times I am currently facing. God bless you all.
