Many of you may know that my daughter, Olivia Kimball, is struggling right now with some pretty severe medical issues. She is in the hospital now in Fort Myers, FL undergoing several tests to try to diagnose what is going on.

She has been having headaches and loss of vision. Her eyes go black momentarily when she stands up. She is constantly dizzy and has a whooshing sound in her ears and immense pressure in her head (she likens it to a balloon being blown up inside her head). She had a spinal tap to try to lessen the pressure, but that didn't work and caused more problems for her!

She also has Papilledema (optic disc swelling) in both eyes, which can cause vision loss. Currently, the papilledema is at stage 2 and 3; at stages 4 or 5, the damage becomes permanent.

It is suspected she has IIH (Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension) or pseudotumor cerebri (symptoms of a tumor, without an actual tumor), but tests are still ongoing.

I know there is more going on that I'm probably missing, but she has a long road ahead to get a diagnosis.

She is seeing a neurologist for testing and has been to a neuro-ophthalmologist. She also has referrals for several other specialists.

She has been unable to work due to all of this and her medical insurance is not that good. She has crazy co-pays and out-of-pocket expenses, not to mention her rent and other bills! She absolutely loves what she does and it is heartbreaking to her that she can't work.

We are not a family that normally asks for help, but I'm at a loss on how to help her otherwise. We don't have the means to pay her bills for her.
