Help a Climate Advocate Weather the Storm

I’m reaching out during an incredibly difficult moment, not just for me, but for many of us working at the frontlines of climate and environmental justice. I’m a social and environmental justice advocate and I’ve dedicated my career to fighting for a cleaner, more equitable future. I work in the nonprofit sector, partnering with grassroots communities and climate coalitions to build a better world. But due to the federal administration’s recent environmental rollbacks and funding cuts, my job, organization, and livelihood is now at risk.

These policy changes aren’t just headlines; they are deeply personal. They’ve stalled crucial funding, frozen grant pipelines, and created instability across the climate justice field. As a result, my organization is facing budget deficit of almost $100,00 (nearly 25% of our operating budget) and is forced to make difficult staffing decisions. While I continue to do everything I can writing grants, applying for jobs, and supporting movement work, we are now facing the real possibility of ceasing to exist.

I’ve been here before. Like many in this field, I’ve weathered gaps in pay and periods without employment. I’ve gone months without income on several occasions while continuing to do mission-driven work. I’ve done it without a safety net, and without health insurance. But this time, the landscape is even more competitive jobs are scarce, grants are harder to come by, and the cost of living hasn’t paused for any of us.

This is why I’m asking for your help.

I’m seeking to raise $6,000 to cover basic expenses over the next few months (final quarter of the year) including time to write, consult, and apply for grants for sustainable work.

This support would allow my work to continue and help fill the gap without having to see my organization dissolve.

More than anything, it will allow me to continue showing up for this work. The work that is urgent, necessary, and often underfunded.
