A Community Support Project — Uni High Class of 1975
Reunion 50: Helping One of Our Own
Life has taken a devastating and unexpected turn for our Uni High ’75 classmate, Guy Lindley, and his partner, Dolly. What they are facing is far beyond what they can manage on their own, and the need for support is real, urgent, and significant.
What Happened
Guy is currently completely disabled due to a severe and complex medical condition involving Long-Haul COVID and advanced Lyme disease. His symptoms are relentless and debilitating, including:
Constant, severe vertigo
Intense nerve pain and neurological symptoms
Profound sleep disruption
Extreme brain fog, anxiety, and episodes of depression
Inability to work, drive, or manage basic daily activities
At this time, Guy is entirely unable to earn income, and even routine tasks have become overwhelming.
Dolly’s Situation
Dolly has been providing daily care and support for Guy, but she herself is now facing major medical challenges. She is scheduled for significant shoulder surgery and will be unable to work for several months during recovery.
As a result, the household is currently dependent on two Social Security checks, which do not come close to covering rent, utilities, medical care, and basic living expenses.
Immediate and Critical Needs
They are facing a rapidly escalating financial emergency.
Urgent needs for December:
Past-due rent and utilities: $3,000 (needed by December 10–12)
Initial treatment at a specialized Long-Haul COVID/Lyme clinic:
$2,500 immediately
$2,500 approximately three weeks later
Total immediate December need: $8,000
Projected needs through March 2026:
Rent and utilities: approximately $3,000 per month × 3 = $9,000
Ongoing medical treatment (IV therapies, metabolic support, supplements, and related care):
Estimated $20,000–$25,000, depending on treatment response
Estimated total need through March: $30,000–$40,000
Why This Matters
Guy is someone who once walked the same hallways we did—now facing a frightening and destabilizing medical crisis through no fault of his own. Without help, they are at real risk of:
Losing their home
Losing essential utilities
Being unable to begin or continue the medical treatment that could improve Guy’s condition
This is a moment when our Uni ’75 community can step forward in a meaningful way.
A Thoughtful Request
Guy is understandably embarrassed and emotionally fragile at this stage of his illness. Even well-intended outreach can be overwhelming. For now, we kindly ask that support be offered through this fundraiser, and that direct contact be limited unless invited.
How You Can Help
Contributions will go directly toward:
Preventing eviction
Maintaining electricity, water, and other basic utilities
Funding urgently needed medical treatment
Supporting essential daily needs during a period when neither Guy nor Dolly can work
Any amount—truly any amount—will make a difference.
Why We’re Doing This
Because this is what community looks like.
Because fifty years later, we still show up for one another.
Because no one should face a crisis like this alone.
If you are able, please donate—and consider sharing this campaign thoughtfully with other Uni ’75 classmates who may want to help.
With gratitude,
Gary Pratt
