Support a Child, Victim of Family Separation

I am writing this today as a cry for help.

A family in our community is going through some challenges right now. For their safety and privacy I won’t be sharing names or photos, but their story needs to be heard.

After seven long years of doing everything they could to follow the legal process and build a better life, this family has been torn apart. The father, who was the provider for his partner and their young toddler, was suddenly detained by ICE. Now a mother is left on her own trying to care for her baby while carrying the weight of fear, grief, and uncertainty about the future.

Their little boy, who is a US citizen, is too young to understand why his dad isn’t coming home. What he does know is that he still needs diapers, formula, clothes, and food. His mother is doing everything she can to keep life steady for him, but the truth is she can’t do it alone right now.

I'm asking for your help because I can't help them alone. No parent should have to choose between paying rent and feeding their child. No child should have to go without the essentials they need to grow. I am asking from the bottom of my heart for any support you can give. Whether it’s five dollars, twenty, or more, every single contribution will help this mother keep her son safe, fed, and cared for during this devastating time.
