My husband and I will be 58 this year and we have been struggling with homelessness for the past 14 months along with our 7 cats. We're both disabled and trying to get SSDI. I also suffer with mental health problems, most of my adult life.
We are forever grateful for all the donations already given. We have been able to pay our storage unit, fix our car, got our cats neutered and chipped, got Paul to the vet and his seizures controlled with medication, lots of cat supplies and gas to help keep us warm. We were also able to stay in a motel during the winter storm.
Right now, all we want is some stability, our own place to call home. We are working so hard to achieve that goal. We still need help from you wonderful people. It's very humbling asking strangers for help just so you can survive day by day. We have tried every avenue for help, there just isn't much for older people. A shelter would separate us and that would leave our cats alone in the car, we just can't do that. We've been together since 1984 and we want to stay together.
Thank you to all our donors, we want you to know how much you mean to us. You have touched our lives in many ways. Hopefully this will be our year we get a home.
