In 2017, I stumbled upon a YouTube video by Paul Sellers on how to square a table leg using just a few simple hand tools — and I was instantly hooked. The beauty of the tools, the sound they made, and the romance of traditional craftsmanship sparked a passion in me that’s only grown deeper since.

While I worked full-time in the tech industry, I dedicated every spare moment to learning about wood, tools, furniture, cabinetry — immersing myself in every aspect of woodworking I could. Even after finally breaking into software development and spending over two years at a dream startup, my passion for the craft never faded.

In August 2024, that chapter closed when I was laid off. After months of job hunting, near-misses, and reflecting on what I truly want, I’ve decided to follow what truly sounds like the Lord's calling.

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been accepted into the prestigious nine-month Furniture Comprehensive program at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship (CFC) in Maine. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to grow my craft, collaborate with master woodworkers, refine my design skills, and bring it all back home to launch the furniture business I’ve been dreaming of at home, in Minnesota.

But I need your help to make it happen.

CFC’s program, while worth every penny, is a major investment — not only in tuition and supplies but also in living expenses for the nine months I’ll be in Maine without income. I’m launching this GoFundMe to help cover those costs and bring this dream within reach.
