Support "A Calendar of Flowers": An experimental short film

Hi, I’m Imogen Blue Hinojosa. I’m an artist and filmmaker currently in production on my experimental short film, A Calendar of Flowers.

This project is part of an ongoing body of work I’ve been making on 16mm film, alongside a series of 8x10 photographs. It explores love, desire, and survival through the lens of trans sex work. The story is drawn from my own life as a trans woman and sex worker, and from the shared experiences of other trans women in my community.

We’ve already begun filming, and what we’ve captured so far is powerful. But like many independent artists, I’m now at a point where I need additional funding to complete it.

With your support, I’ll be able to finish production and move into post, covering editing, sound, color grading, and purchasing more film to shoot the final scenes. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps bring this work to completion.

This film is deeply personal, but it’s also political. It offers a narrative about trans lives (specifically the lives of trans sex workers) that is rarely seen with care or nuance. At a time when trans people are being targeted globally, telling our own stories on our own terms is urgent.
