Support a Brave Teen After School Trauma

Hello everyone, my name is Simone. I am the mother of these 3 intelligent kings and queen. My kids have been my motivation since day one. Growing up, my mother had a daycare inside the home, so I never thought to this day I'd have any of my own. I love them dearly and would do anything for them. They are the sunshine to my day and the moon to my night!

I decided to start this GoFundMe because I don't have a village behind me like most. Most people know, but some may not, that my oldest was at school when the Antioch High School shooting occurred. He was not only in school but in the cafeteria where the shooting occurred. He ran for his life, losing his shoes and all. He is okay. After that occurred, the school was just doing unlawful things that most parents wouldn't agree with, like shutting the cafeteria down and feeding them donuts for lunch. I feel as if they opened the school too soon and had no plans to feed these children or help them with their mental health. My son was terrified every day to go to school after that. I took the initiative to just withdraw my student and figure out life after that.

We decided to go with a homeschool program, and he has decided to go to trucking school once completed. The program gave 3 years to complete, but my son has completed it within a month and a half. From a sophomore to a senior just that quick. His birthday is on May 7, and one gift I wanted to give was his high school diploma. As a single mom, I still have a balance for the diploma, and I'm asking for help from my community to make my son's 16th birthday one to not forget. I don't want him waiting around for me to finish paying it off in 3 years. I'm hoping he can chase his dreams sooner!
