Support a Brave Single Mom's Medical Journey

Dear Family and Friends and to all of those who may or may not know me . . .
I have a Friend who would like to be anonymous because she feels ashamed and embarrassed for people to know her truth. She has kept this a secret for as long as she could, but the physical effects are starting to take control and cannot hide it much longer. She is a single Mother of one son. She has continued to work full time and is a full time Mom of a senior in High School student who is active in Band.
A little information about my Friend. She is a very private person and has always been independent and doing everything on her own, so, please understand that it is hard for her to put her personal business out there. She has finally agreed to allow me to ask for help on her behalf. She is not good at accepting or asking for help but unfortunately, she is at the point in her life and health where she no longer has a choice.
I would like to add that she is a very giving person. She gets a lot of joy from feeding someone who needs it or trying to help with a need, such as if they need a jacket, she will get one for them. She would help anyone, but now she needs help.
For the past 2 years, she has undergone three surgeries: 1) to remove a lump from her breast, 2) to remove a spot from colon and, 3) to remove three spots from her stomach. She was left with two drains from the stomach surgery. She had to have those in for two weeks. Having the drains in, she only missed 3 days of work.
Since her illness, she has managed to keep working full time, except for having to take time off for surgeries, biopsies, appointments, radiation, and chemotherapy treatments. She is out of Paid Time Off from all the surgeries and treatments of chemo and radiation. All while still being a full-time mama.
Unfortunately, she does not have any family to aid her. Over time it has put a major financial, emotional, mental, and physical toll on her and her son. She understands we all go through challenging times so anything helps . . . whether it be a monetary donation, sharing her story, or sending love, prayers, positive and healing vibes. All is accepted and very very much appreciated.
She needs to pay her WVU medical bill which is currently about $4,284; however, with future visits, we are positive the amount will go up some more. She has exhausted every known avenue to seek help with agencies, such as DHHR for Medicaid spend down, local assistance agencies like Salvation Army, etc. Please know that she has made monthly payments and has paid out over $3K; however, with added medical bills being added to her account, WVU is increasing the monthly payment amount required. It is too much for her to handle. We are told that if she defaults on this medical bill that WVU just files a case to attach wages. They no longer work with people.
If that is the case, and her wages get attached, she will not be able to pay her monthly rent that includes her utilities, and I would hate to think that would lead to an eviction.
I know these are challenging times for a lot of people these days. Please know if you are not able to donate, please share this publicly to everyone on your friend list, the more people see it, the chances of someone being able to help will increase. Please continue to pray for her and her son through this tough time. Thank you for taking the time to check this out. Thank you and she will appreciate anything you can do. God Bless!!
