Support a Brave Nurse's Battle with Cancer

I am a family nurse practitioner and entrepreneur who started my business in May 2024. I have not worked since April 2024 due to chronic pain and fatigue issues that I thought were related to overworking at my previous nurse practitioner job. I had a preventative hysterectomy due to being diagnosed with BRCA1 and coincidentally found out that I had ovarian cancer in October 2024. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy and have completed five cycles. I just finished my fifth cycle last week and have one more to go.

Chemotherapy is taking its toll on me, and I’m feeling very weak and unable to work at all for the remaining of my chemotherapy treatments.

I am a single mother to three adolescent boys aged 11, 13, and 14. I have no Social Security or disability insurance income, and my ex-husband has been unreliable about paying his minimal child support. I am and have also been caring for the three boys entirely on my own for the last four years since my divorce from my ex-husband, who still has nothing to do with the children per his decision.

I’m finding that I can’t make ends meet to pay my rent, utilities, car and malpractice Insurance, phone bill, and other bills to sustain a stable life for my family. My retirement savings account has already almost completely been used up, and I am finding myself almost penniless after working decades as both a registered nurse and family nurse practitioner caring for others.
