Hi, my name is Kass I’m a single mother of 5. After a year of staying in a homeless shelter I finally secured housing for our family. I am doing everything I can to keep a stable roof over our heads. We’ve come a long way but right now, I’m at risk of losing everything I’ve worked for.

Between part-time work, childcare costs, and falling ill unexpectedly it's caused me to miss over a week of income, I’ve fallen behind on rent. I’ve communicated with my landlord, tried to make partial payments, and even pushed through while my apartment is under repair due to a leak in my apartment, leaving my laundry piled and my washer/dryer unplugged.

It's always been hard for me to speak out and I’ve never liked asking for help, but I’m asking now because my kids deserve better than the stress and uncertainty I’ve been carrying. My rent and late fees total $1,360, and I have until July 19th to pay it or we’ll be forced to leave.

I prayed for this home, I work hard for this home and I promised my kids we would never have to go through that kind of trauma again. They deserve a stable home to grow in.
