Support a Brave Mom's Fight to Keep Her Sight

Hello everyone. I am coming on here to ask for help. Something I’ve never known how to do. I’ve always been the one helping everyone even when I could barely help myself. It’s taken everything in me to put my pride to the side and ask for the help of the community. On 10/22/2024 I complained to a doctor where I work (ophthalmologist) that I felt someone was dimming the lights to my vision and a flutter on my right eye. He ran some tests on me and made me get to the ER. On 10/24/2024 I went to Piedmont and had a lumbar puncture done. My opening pressure was over 38 (anything over 20 is high) however, they were able to get it down to 12. On 11/1/2024, I met with a neurologist in Auburn who has scheduled me to have an MRV & an MRI. I also have to have another lumbar puncture done around 11/24/24 to drain more fluid as the pressure has gone back up. He has also referred me to an ophthalmic neurosurgeon to have a shunt put in to help save my vision. I have currently lost 25% of the peripheral vision on my right eye and 12% on the left eye. I could lose my sight at any time. As a single mom of a 9 year old little girl, I am terrified. I am her everything as she is mine. All of my office visits to specialists are $75. The MRI and the MRV are a $750 copay each and this is with insurance. The bills for the ER and the 1st lumbar puncture, the diagnostic tests have started to trickle in. Unfortunately, I don’t have anyone to turn to except the community. I do work full time and I clean the doctors office on the weekends but it’s simply not enough for me to cover the costs of all these treatments.
