Support A Brave 4-Year-Old's Fight Against Tumors
Donation protected
Nina, a 4-year-old girl is suffering from tumors in her eye and her brain. She was born on February 24, 2019, in Belgrade, Serbia. The pregnancy was properly managed and controlled. However, immediately after birth, her medical complications began:
- After birth, several skin changes in the form of "cafe au lait" or "white coffee" spots were noticed.
- At 6 months old, Nina's mother noticed a fibroma, a growth composed of fibrous and connective tissue, on her forehead. During that time Nina was often agitated, moody, and had a poor appetite.
- During the summer of 2020, her parents noticed Amblyopia in her right eye (lazy eye). A neuro-ophthalmologist discovered that Nina had a tumor in her right eye. A neurologist also then diagnosed her with Neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder that causes the formation of tumors on nerve tissues.
- In October 2020, Nina underwent surgery at Belgrade's Clinical Center, Department of Neurosurgery. Unfortunately, she lost sight in her right eye completely.
- In July of this year, it was established that Nina also has a tumor in her brain and a build-up of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain, a condition called hydrocephalus. Surgery was performed where the doctors put a shunt in Nina’s brain to help drain the built-up fluid.
Nina continues to fight for her life! We're seeking aid for her continued treatment. We truly appreciate any donation you can give to allow Nina to keep fighting and save her life.
