Support a Black Business Owner's Safety
Donation protected
As a proud Black business owner, I've dedicated over six years to building a welcoming space in my community. However, I've recently found myself facing a deeply troubling situation with a neighbor whose racist behavior is becoming increasingly aggressive and threatening.
What started as subtle intimidation revving his motorcycle while I conduct sessions has escalated to him leaving trash on my porch. Given that we share the same lot, avoiding him has become nearly impossible. This toxic environment is not only affecting my business but also my sense of safety and well-being.
Despite my desire to leave, rising market prices have made it incredibly challenging to find an affordable new location. After much thought, I recognize that I need to prioritize my safety and well-being by relocating.
I am reaching out for help from my community. Any contributions will go directly toward securing a new space and ensuring that I can continue to serve my clients in a safe and supportive environment. Your support during this difficult time would mean the world to me.
Thank you for standing with me against racism and supporting my journey as a Black business owner.
[UPDATE]
Since my last post Lamar Smith Banks, has filed false charges against me, claiming that I sent him death threats via text. I never texted him. But based solely on his word, I was arrested, had to be bonded out, and now face legal costs to clear my name.
This has been traumatic, costly, and deeply unfair. I now have to hire a lawyer to defend myself against these false accusations.
