Hello community,

We're raising funds for a dear community member who sustained an unexpected injury requiring surgery and an estimated 6 months of recovery with physical therapy. Our friend is a Black, queer healer and care worker based in the Bay Area. They are self-employed, and thus unable to take sufficient time off to recover and pay their medical bills. The funds collected are meant to provide them with some relief so that they are able to rest, recuperate, and take care of themselves before they continue taking care of others in community.

The $10,000 goal is aimed at helping them with their rent, monthly expenses, medical bills and physical therapy.

Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated, and please feel free to share widely with your networks! In an ideal world, we would all get ample rest and support when something like this happens. While we actively work on creating a world where that is our reality - let's show up for each other and make sure our loved ones are able to rest and recover in ways they deserve.
